Brussels Airlines Business Class Review
I booked Brussels Airlines business class for a simple reason: at the time I booked, economy was more expensive than business class, so I took the upgrade. This Brussels to Manchester flight was my final leg home after returning from Riga to Brussels on airBaltic.
For context, on the outbound I flew Manchester to Frankfurt on Lufthansa, missed my connection, and Lufthansa were excellent at rerouting me. The reroute was faultless, but I still arrived into Riga around six hours later than planned for my 48 hours in Riga trip, which I have already written about.
TL:DR
My Brussels Airlines business class flight from Brussels to Manchester was great value because business class was cheaper than economy when I booked. Lounge access in Brussels and the onboard meal were strong. The worst part of the whole trip was actually Manchester Airport, not the airline, because the Terminal 2 travelators were not working and I got hit with an extra parking hour.

Business Class Lounge Access
Brussels Airlines business class lounge access was one of the main perks on this connection through Brussels airport (which is vast by the way!). Having a quieter place to sit, recharge, and reset between flights made the travel day much less stressful.
Brussels Airlines Business Class Seat and Cabin Comfort
This is European short-haul business class, so the seat is the standard economy-style seat. The difference is the space and atmosphere, with the middle seat kept free, which gave me extra elbow room and a calmer feel for the short flight.
Business Class Meal Service

Brussels Airlines business class meal service was the highlight onboard. I took several photos of the meal served in the cabin. This is the clearest way to show what you actually get on a short-haul business class flight.

Arrival at Manchester Terminal 2 and the Parking Overstay
Brussels Airlines arrived into Manchester Terminal 2. Manchester now primarily operates from Terminal 2, but at the time I had parked at the Terminal 1 multi-storey. This was because my outbound flight was on Lufthansa, operating from Manchester T1. So I had a longer walk to get back to the car.
To make it worse, the travelators were not working that night (and I honestly cannot think of a time when I have seen them working either!). This slowed everything down. The most frustrating part was Manchester Airport parking charging me extra for an hour overstay. Despite the delay was caused by their travelators not being turned on. Which would have made for a quicker exit back to the Terminal 1 car park.
